CONCEPT STATEMENT AND THE MEANING BEHIND “UNION”:
2020 Tokyo Olympics had an impact on everyone from olympiads, athletes, families, friends, and fans. Mental health took center stage which redefined the perspective for future generations. “Union” means the action or fact of joining. A stronger community was built after these games due to the similar mental health challenges Olympians struggle with and overcome. This publication features Simone Biles and Michael Phelps personal battles with sports. The word mark, “Union” is conjoined to show strength in community, joining, and shared experiences.
